How and when do I apply for student housing?
First Year and Transfer will apply for housing once they have been admitted to the College and made the $500 deposit to Admissions ($200 Damage Deposit/$300 Enrollment Deposit).  All housing applications are due by June 1st.

Where are students housed?
There are five residence halls Alumnae, Spellman, Mastronardi, Seton and Marillac.  First Year students room will be reserved to Alumnae and Spellman halls only.

When will I find out my housing assignment?
First Year and Transfer students who complete their housing application prior to  or by the June 1st deadline will be assigned to rooms first.  Late applicants will be assigned rooms throughout the summer months.  All residents will receive notification of their housing assignment, roommate and roommates CMSV email during the first week of August.

When can I move into to my residence hall room?
Move in for First Year/Transfer students usually take place the Friday prior to the first day of classes.  Returning residents will move in on the day before the first day of classes.

Can I bring my car to campus?
As you may imagine, parking spaces on campus are limited.  As such, First Year resident students are not permitted to have cars on campus.   If you have a medical emergency you should contact the Office of Student Affairs. Each semester the Office of Campus Safety and Security will share information regarding parking passes.  You can also visit their page on the College’s website.  There is a fee for these spaces and are distributed on a first come, first serve basis.

May I have overnight guests?
The first 6 weeks of a student’s college experience is detrimental to the success of that student.  Knowing this, the college attempts to support the development and support of each student through various programs and events scheduled during these weeks to assist with First Year/Transfer students connecting and learning the campus culture.  With this, First Year students are not permitted any overnight guests during the first semester of their freshman year.  Please see the Student Handbook for the detailed guest policy.

Where can I do laundry?
There are laundry services on the first floor/basement of every residence hall.  The laundry room includes a number of washer and dryers.  The College provides a FREE PLAY service that allows students to wash/dry clothes free of charge.  Our laundry machines are also equipped with a LAUNDRY VIEW program that allows you to view the washer/dryer’s used from any laptop/computer.  Our laundry rooms are serviced by MACGRAY.  You can view this information by visiting http://laundryview.com

If I live on campus, am I required to have a meal plan?
Yes, all residential students are required to have a meal plan.  In fact, the Colleges meal plans are mandatory and are based on a declining balance.  All dining services are managed by Chartwells.

Can stay in my room during Winter and Spring Break?
The residence halls will close during every scheduled vacation break. 
The scheduled breaks are:  Thanksgiving (November) Winter Break (December-January) Spring Break (March) Easter Break (April).  Any student wishing to remain in the residence halls during these breaks must receive prior approval and pay a fee based on $120 per week.  All guidelines and approval steps are available by visiting the Residence Life page on the College’s website.  The only building available during these breaks are; Alumnae, Spellman and Mastronardi halls.

Where can I purchase housewares for my room?
Many students go to Target which is located on 225th street and Broadway.  There is public transportation available right outside of the campus.

Can I purchase my books from the campus bookstore?
We have a unique bookstore named The NO BOOKSTORE. The NO Bookstore sells a host of items for both classroom and personal use.  The NO Bookstore staff can also assist you in the purchase of your books from Akademos, an online bookstore.
