Scholarships and Aid

Dear Alumnae/i and Friends,

The visionary German writer Johann Wolfgang von Goethe said, “Dream no small dreams, for they have no power to move the hearts of men.”

At the College of Mount Saint Vincent, we wholeheartedly agree. Each year, the College welcomes students driven by a desire to learn and empower themselves, their families, and their communities. Through the generous support of dedicated alumnae/i and friends like you, the Mount provides the knowledge and opportunities for students to fully realize their potential and ambitions. This year’s annual report titled “Making Dreams Possible” illustrates how the College makes all dreams, no matter how bold, possible for its students, and the essential role alumnae/i, donors and friends play in that process.

A Mount education is transformative. Since the College’s inception, we have strived to uphold the ideals entrusted to us by our founders, the Sisters of Charity, by providing talented and deserving students, regardless of financial background, authentic opportunities and the necessary skills and education to pursue their dreams.

Today, the College honors this legacy as one of the most diverse and inclusive institutions of higher learning in the nation. Students at the Mount represent every race, ethnicity and socioeconomic background. Our students’ hopes and dreams permeate all of their actions and are evident in how they live, work, play, give, create, and learn.

One student may dream of coming to a college where they can excel at academics and athletics, while being afforded the opportunity to study abroad. This is one dream that the Mount makes possible, through our myriad study abroad opportunities, rigorous and enriching academics, and Division III Athletics. Still another student may dream of assisting others in need through meaningful community service and living on-campus to make the most of his or her college experience. The new Seton Service and Leadership Scholarship, sponsored by the Sisters of Charity, which provides full room and board for four years for academically-strong and service-oriented students, help make this dream a reality for more of our students.

Your forward-thinking philanthropy enables the College of Mount Saint Vincent to provide the financial assistance, supportive learning community, and outstanding academic programs that our students deserve.

There are numerous ways to support our students and their efforts. A gift to fund a scholarship in perpetuity truly transforms a talented and deserving student’s life, by making the dream of higher education a reality. Gifts to the Annual Fund enable the Mount to maintain our beautiful campus; allow our student-athletes to travel to other colleges to compete in intercollegiate sports; and permit students and faculty to travel to professional conferences to present their original research to their peers and professionals in the field.

Thank you for your vital support of the College, this year and every year. Your generosity, faith, and commitment truly allow us to make dreams possible for all those we serve.
