With a strong liberal arts background and practical skills learned at internships, Mount Saint Vincent’s seniors graduate from the College ready to work, pursue advanced study, or both.

Here’s what just a few of our recent alumnae/i are doing:

  Albert Bararwandika ‘10, in addition to cancer research at Columbia University, participated in the summer undergraduate research program in Anesthesiology at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. He is now a medical student at Albert Einstein College of Medicine.  Read more

Sarah Sheridan, B.A., Communication and Liberal Arts, 2007, is working at WENY-TV NEWS as a Good Morning Twin Tiers Anchor.  Sarah joined the news team in November 2007 as Producer of Twin Tiers Tonight and Health Reporter. 


Erin McCormick, B.S., Biology with a minor in Chemistry, 2009, is working as a Research Assistant at Columbia University where she does research on some of the rarest forms of lymphoma. She began this important work during a Mount internship.

Christina Gonzalez, B.A., Communication and Spanish with a minor in International Studies, 2009, is working at the College as Assistant Director for College Relations. She also does freelance work for Univision WXTV 41.

Heather Gostomski, B.S., Business, 2009, accepted a position with JP Morgan in their Investment Bank in Prime Brokerage after completing their prime brokerage training program.  Heather interned there and BNP Paribas under the stewardship of Kathryn Swintek.

Shane Strassberg, B.A., Communication, 2003. This former Marine is an aspiring photographer who works at Yonkers Raceway in Yonkers, NY in their Broadcast Department.   Visit his photography website at


Dr. Ellen Carlin, ‘99 has a Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from Cornell and was awarded 2007-2008.
AVMA Congressional Science and Executive Branch Fellow of the American Veterinary Medical Association.

Dr. James D. Melillo ’99 DDS graduated from Stony Brook School of Dental Medicine and practices dentistry in in the New York area.

Dr. Zsolt Kulscar ’03, is an osteopath in NY.

Dr. James Nitzkorski, ’99 is a Surgical Oncologist in Philadelphia, PA.

Dr. Flora Cohen ’98 has Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Stony Brook University.

Claudia Leiras, ’97, is completing a doctorate at University of Pittsburgh in molecular cancer epidemiology.

Vandana Chand ‘09 is a research technician working at the Columbia University’s Medical Center within a pathology research lab.


Levar Brown ’02 is a Wealth Management Advisor at Merrill Lynch.

Andreas Stojanow ’04 is a Data Analyst at Bloomberg L.P. in London.

Heather Gotomski ’09 interned at BNP Paribas and accepted a position at JP Morgan Investment Bank.
