Teachers of Excellence Fund
The Science Advisory Committee and CMSV have established a “Science Teachers of Excellence Fund” to both raise money for the Science Building renovation and to recognize those teachers that dedicated so much of themselves to their students.

Your path was probably deeply influenced by a particular teacher or professor. For many students in the 70s and 80s, it was Dr. Dominic Pirone. Dr. Pirone passed away almost ten years ago after dedicating over 25 years to teaching and mentoring students.

If we can raise $250,000 for much needed renovations and improvements in memory of Dr. Pirone, the Ecology laboratory will be named in his honor. Imagine the possibilities with a fully modernized lab that meets both current standards and the abilities of students and faculty.

We recognize that some of you may not have had much interaction with Dr. Pirone, but worked closely with other outstanding faculty members - Dr. Thomas Shea,Brother Quinn, Dr. Beardsley, Sister Kathleen Tracey, Sister Mary Edward Zipf, to name a few - who helped shape who you are today.

Gifts can be made in honor of those outstanding professors as well as others who influenced you, and will help make the renewal of the Science building a reality. Gifts of $5,000 or more will be recognized on a plaque in the Science building.

Additional naming opportunities are available - for laboratories, lecture halls, and classrooms.

We hope you’ll consider lending your support to renewing the Science resources at the College of Mount Saint Vincent.
