4/15/2015

Riverdale, N.Y. – The University of Mount Saint Vincent Players, a student theatre club, will present Naomi Iizuka’s Anon(ymous), from April 17-19 in Hayes Auditorium.

Anon(ymous) is a modern adaptation of Homer’s The Odyssey. After being separated from his mother, a young refugee named Anon journeys through the United States. Along the way, he navigates through a chaotic, ever-changing landscape, encountering a wide variety of people as he searches for his family.

Performances are at 8 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, and 2 p.m. on Sunday. All shows are free for University of Mount Saint Vincent students. Tickets for the general public are $3.

The play ties into the College’s ongoing theme to increase awareness and foster activism on the subject of human trafficking. The College will host a one-day conference on human trafficking and modern day slavery, “Migration, Trafficking, and Freedom: We Are All Migrant Peoples,” on Friday, April 24, 2015 in Smith Hall from 10 a.m.-2 p.m.
