Thanks & Appreciation
Jody A. Lyn ‘05
"As a young girl, I aspired to become a
teacher like the many teachers that guided me along
the way—teachers that motivated me to be an
assiduous student, devoted to education. Without the
support of donors like you, my dreams would have no
possibility of becoming reality."

Why do you call me
every year?
The Dolphin Dialers
program gives students an opportunity to thank donors
personally for their support and encourage them to
continue that support. The Dolphin Dialers also share
College news and information about campus events. Plus
the phone call is a great chance for you to let us
know what you have been up to! If you would rather
not hear from the Dolphin Dialers, please contact
Elizabeth Skinner, director of annual giving at
elizabeth.skinner@mountsaintvincent.edu
or 718-405-3342.
When is the College's
fiscal year?
The fiscal year is July 1 through June 30. The Annual
Fund follows the fiscal year so the 2007-2008 Annual Fund
runs from July 1, 2007 through June 30, 2008.
Is my gift tax
deductible?
All Annual Fund gifts are fully tax
deductible. More about the

What is alumni
participation?
Alumni participation is the number of graduates who
support the College financially. It is an important gauge
of alumni satisfaction with their experience at the
Mount. High alumni participation is a clear indicator of
former students’ satisfaction with their college
experience and their desire to participate in the
school’s future success. This is important because
foundations and government agencies often consider alumni
participation rates when making major gifts to colleges
and universities. Furthermore, college guidebooks such as
U.S. News and World Report use alumni giving rates as the
sole criterion to assess alumni satisfaction when
determining overall institutional ratings of quality.

rate…
Can I make a gift in memory or in honor of someone
special?

Fund is a wonderful way to honor a loved one and many
alums choose to do so. Just send this information with

and who you would like be notified of the gift. Your gift
will appear in the College's annual report as a gift
in honor or in memory with your name and the name of the
honoree.
What are matching
gifts?
Matching gifts are an easy way to double or triple your
gift to the Annual Fund. More
