Alumnae/i Distinguished Service Award

Description and Eligibility

The Alumnae/i Distinguished Service Award is presented to an alumnus/a who has provided exemplary service to the University of Mount Saint Vincent and/or to the University of Mount Saint Vincent Alumnae/i Association. This individual would be recognized for having devoted a significant amount of time, energy, and enthusiasm to volunteerism and cultivation within the University community in support of the University’s mission and programs.

Nomination Procedure

All nominations must be submitted on the nomination form; both online and paper versions are accepted. Paper submissions must be postmarked by the deadline of that year. To request a paper nomination form, please call the Office of Alumnae/i Relations at (718) 405-3252.

Each nomination form must be completed to its fullest, stating the specific reasons for nomination. Additional documentation (news articles, letters of recommendation, etc.) may be included. Any incomplete nomination forms will not be considered. Nominees not selected will remain in the nominating pool for 3 additional years.

Nominations will be reviewed by the Executive Board of the Alumnae/i Association, or a committee of its members. After review of the nominations, the Alumnae/i Association will recommend to the Director for Alumnae/i Relations and Giving, at least 1 but no more than 3 candidates for the award. The recipients will be selected from the recommended pool of candidates by the Director for Alumnae/i Relations and Giving in consultation with the Director for Development and the Senior Vice President for Admission and External Relations.

Award Ceremony

Presentations will be made at the University of Mount Saint Vincent Reunion Weekend. The award winner must be able to attend this ceremony in order to receive this award.
