Scholarships

If you are applying for an academic scholarship, you must be a full-time student and maintain the GPA stipulated by your particular award for yearly renewal. Students who fail to meet the academic requirement for scholarship renewal will have their eligibility for financial aid renewed on an individual basis.

Corazon C. Aquino Scholarship
This four-year, full-tuition scholarship is awarded to a high-achieving incoming student of Filipino descent. Recipients must maintain a 3.2 cumulative grade point average for renewal each year. There is no separate application for this scholarship. Recipients will be selected in early March.

First Year Merit Scholarship
Awarded to prospective students at the time of acceptance, this four-year scholarship is offered to first-year students based on their grade point average and standardized test scores (SAT or ACT). Depending on the amount, recipients must maintain a 2.75 cumulative grade point average for yearly renewal. Some students will be invited to interview with our scholarship committee to compete for an additional supplementary award. Interviews will be scheduled between January 15 and March 1.

Fonthill Writing Award
This four-year, full-tuition scholarship is awarded to a prospective student intent on developing their writing skills. Recipients must maintain a 3.0 GPA. A panel comprised of the Department of English faculty, including the Director of Writing, will judge applicant portfolios. The recipient must choose the Writing Minor program or be an active participant in the College newspaper.

International Student Merit Scholarship
Awarded to prospective international students at the time of acceptance, this scholarship (four years for incoming and two to three years for transfers) is offered to first-year and transfer international students based on their grade point average, class rank, and standardized test scores. Recipients must maintain a 3.2 cumulative grade point average for yearly renewal.

Mary Ambrose Dunphy, S.C. Scholarship
The Mary Ambrose Dunphy, S.C. Scholarship was established in honor of the first dean (president) of the College of Mount Saint Vincent. To be eligible for the award, the applicant must be a niece or nephew of a Sister of Charity or the child of an employee of the Sisters of Charity. The recipient is required to apply for financial aid by filing the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid).

NSF S-STEM Scholars on Track Scholarship for Science (up to $10,000)
The College of Mount Saint Vincent received a highly competitive grant from the National Science Foundation, in recognition of the Mount’s strength in the sciences, to fund scholars pursuing academic studies in a field of science. To be considered, candidates must hold a minimum cumulative high school GPA of 87 with particular strength in science and mathematics courses, as well as an SAT-Math score of at least 500 and SAT-Critical Reading score of at least 450. The student must maintain a 3.0 GPA.

Interested students must submit a complete application by February 1. Candidates will be interviewed between February 1 and March 1. Learn more and apply here.

Seton Service and Leadership Scholarship
Sponsored by the Sisters of Charity of New York, this four-year, full standard room and board scholarship is offered to students who have an outstanding academic profile and have demonstrated community service and leadership skills. Students must maintain a 3.0 GPA and continue to be a resident student for annual renewal. Candidates will be interviewed between February 1 and March 1.

Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to community college students who are members of Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) and who have a cumulative GPA of 3.50. Scholarships are awarded on the basis of past academic standing only. Applicants must submit proof of membership, e.g., PTK Membership card or copy of PTK Certificate.

Transfer Merit Scholarship
To be eligible, students must submit an application for admission and have earned a cumulative grade point average of 3.3–4.0 at previous institutions. Recipients must maintain a 3.0 grade point average for yearly renewal. Students will be notified about the amount of the merit scholarship at the time of acceptance.

Virginia Warder Jackle Scholarship 
The Virginia Warder Jackle Scholarship, established in honor of Mount Saint Vincent alumna and benefactor, is awarded each year to the daughter or son of a Mount graduate. The recipient is required to apply for financial aid by filing the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid).
