Fred Kettrell joins the Mount Saint Vincent Men’s Basketball staff in his first year as an assistant coach under Michael Murphy. Kettrell brings a wealth of coaching experience in both the men’s and women’s game at both the high school and collegiate level.

Most recently, Kettrell spent the 2005-2006 season as an assistant coach on the women’s staff at Felician College in Lodi, NJ. Previous to that, Ketrell was an assistant on the men’s side at Baruch College in New York City from 1999-2005. While at Baruch, Kettrell helped the Bearcats to a CUNY Championship and a berth in the NCAA Division III Tournament in 2000. In 2001 Baruch advanced to the ECAC Tournament and then won the New York/New Jersey Metro Division Championship in 2003.

Kettrell has also coached on the collegiate level on the women’s staff at the College of Saint Elizabeth from 1997-99 and on the men’s staff at Hunter College from 1996-97.

Coach Kettrell got his start in coaching during the 1994-95 season when he served as a volunteer assistant coach at Bergen Community College and as the Freshman Boys Coach at Irvington High School. From there, he became the assistant varsity boys coach and junior varsity boys head coach at Montclair Kimberly Academy from 1995-96.

Kettrell has also had extensive camp coaching experience since 1995. From 1995-2006 he was a staff member at Seton Hall University’s Summer Camps. In addition, he worked with the Sharp Shooters Summer Camp from 1997-2006 and Five Star Basketball Position Camp during the summer of 2007.

Kettrell also is a member of several coaching organizations, including the Black Coaches Association (BCA), the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) and the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA).

Coach Kettrell currently resides in South Orange, NJ.
