Mount Saint Vincent freshman Tracy Frank enjoyed the finest week of her young career last week, earning HVWAC Tournament MVP honors, and Skyline Conference Rookie of the Week. |
After contributing two goals and an assist during the regular season, Frank erupted this week, scoring twice and adding an assist during a 6-0 HVWAC Semifinal victory over Marymount on Thursday. Two days later, Frank scored the game-winning goal in the 15th minute as the second-seeded Dolphins upset top-seeded College of Staten Island, 1-0, in the HVWAC Finals. For her efforts, Frank was named Most Valuable Player of the HVWAC Tournament.
Frank finished the 2005 season with five goals and 12 points, and was the Mount’s fourth leading scorer. She was the first Dolphin to earn Rookie of the Week honors this season and the second in two years as Mount goalie Alexis Alessi (Rockville Centre, NY/Oceanside HS) earned the honor in September of 2004. Mount Saint Vincent finished the 2005 season with a 10-7 overall record after finishing 3-10 in 2004.
