Three Mount Saint Vincent Student-Athletes named to Skyline Conference Honor Roll
Predergast earns sixth straight honor; Gentsch remains among Skyline Conference leaders in goals, points
10/24/2005 - (Riverdale, NY) – For the sixth consecutive week, Mount Saint Vincent Women’s Volleyball outside hitter Roxanne Predergast (Center Moriches, NY/Westhampton Beach HS) was named to the Skyline Conference Honor Roll after yet another outstanding stretch. While Mount Saint Vincent finished last week 0-3, Predergast was the model of consistency, averaging 2.7 kills, 2.7 digs, and 0.4 service aces in 16 games. Predergast is currently the Mount Saint Vincent leader in kills (2.46 per game) and digs (2.27 per game), and is also fourth on the team with 40 service aces this season. Mount Saint Vincent (10-18, 1-6 Skyline Conference, 6-0 HVWAC)  has two regular season matches remaining and will finish no worse than second in the Hudson Valley Women’s Athletic Conference (HVWAC) – allowing the Dolphins to host an HVWAC Quarterfinal match on Friday, Nov. 4 at 7:00 p.m.

Also earning Skyline Conference Honor Roll this week was Women’s Soccer sophomore Katherine Gentsch (Staten Island, NY/Curtis HS). The forward scored twice in two consecutive games last week as the Mount downed John Jay, 3-0 on Tuesday, and St. Elizabeth, 4-0 on Thursday. Gentsch now has 12 goals and 26 points for the 2005 season, and is second in the Skyline Conference in both categories. Mount Saint Vincent (7-6, 1-4 Skyline Conference, 4-1 HVWAC) finishes its regular season this week with a home match Wednesday against Skyline Conference foe, Manhattanville College, at 4:00 p.m. at Maritime College, and their HVWAC finale at CCNY on Friday at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday’s game will be Senior Day as two Dolphin seniors will be honored before their final home regular season match.

Men's Soccer goalie Nicholas Sens-Castet was named to the Skyline Conference Honor Roll after recording consecutive shutouts against St. Joseph's (LI) and Bard.


Men’s Soccer goalie Nicholas Sens-Castet (Brooklyn, NY/St. John’s Prep) was also named to the Skyline Conference Honor Roll this week after leading Mount Saint Vincent to upset wins over St. Joseph’s (1-0) on Thursday, and Bard (3-0) on Saturday. During 180 minutes played, Sens-Castet did not allow a single goal, and made 14 saves. This was Sens-Castet’s second time on the Skyline Conference Honor Roll this season, and he now has three shut-outs. Mount Saint Vincent will play three Hudson Valley Men’s Athletic Conference (HVMAC) games next weekend. On Friday, the Dolphins host Cooper Union at 3:30 p.m. at Redmond-Cooke Field in Yonkers. On Saturday, the Mount travels to Webb for a 2:00 p.m. start. Finally, on Sunday, the Dolphins return home to face the Culinary Institute of America at noon. That game will be played at Marymount College.
