The match was actually far closer than the score indicated as all three games going right to the wire with the Cyclones (8-14, 2-3 Skyline Conference) sweeping the match by scores of 30-26, 30-22, and 30-28. The Mount struggled all afternoon with sloppy play as they committed 28 attacking errors while registering only 22 kills. Predergast and Lopez had solid outings, as did sophomores Nicole Vita (Bordentown, NJ/John P. Stevens HS) who had 11 assists, and Edeana Martinez (Bronx, NY/St. Catherine’s HS) added seven total blocks.
Mount Saint Vincent will now focus its attention on the upcoming Hudson Valley Women’s Athletic Conference (HVWAC) playoffs as they finish their HVWAC schedule during the upcoming week. On Tuesday, the Dolphins travel to Marymount College for a 7:00 p.m. match. On Thursday, they return home for their regular season finale against St. Joseph’s (Brooklyn) at 7:30 p.m.
