Rizzotto, a senior, scored the first two goals of her career during a four-minute span of the first half during Saturday’s 3-1 win over Medgar Evers. The Dolphins trailed 1-0 midway through the first half, when Rizzotto connected for the first time during a beautiful transition play to tie the score. Her second goal was nearly identical to the first and put the Mount in the lead for good. A lifelong goalkeeper until a year ago when she joined the Mount Saint Vincent defense, the two goals were the first Rizzotto has ever scored during a competitive soccer match at any level.
Predergast was equally heroic, averaging 2.47 kills. 2.42 digs, and 0.68 services during six tough matches for the Mount. The Dolphins finished the week with a 2-4 record, defeating the College of New Rochelle and SUNY IT. The latter win came during the Hartwick College Tournament in which the Mount finished sixth. Predergast was named to the All-Tournament team for a fantastic weekend that saw Mount Saint Vincent offer excellent competition to some of the stronger programs in the upstate New York region.
