Students may pursue dual programs, such as early childhood and childhood education, childhood education with grades 7 through 9 extension, special education and childhood education, and special education and adolescence education.

Students also benefit from the field experiences made available through the College of Mount Saint Vincent. The department maintains professional relationships with many schools in District 10, in the Bronx, as well as public and nonpublic schools in Yonkers and Hastings.
