Oxley Career Education Program Presents Career Workshop Series for Mount Students

Riverdale, N.Y. – The Oxley Career Education Program, a constellation of academic opportunities and rigorous support to foster student success, academic achievement, and exceptional career development, will offer a series of workshops for University of Mount Saint Vincent students that get right to the heart of “preparing for a career, not just a job.”

The winter series of workshops and presentations kicked off with Resume Basics: Mastering What Employers Want on February 10—providing students the opportunity to put themselves in a potential employer’s shoes to determine the best way to present their skills and background. On February 17, How to Get an Internship provided students with tips and strategies for landing an internship in the field of their choice.

  • LinkedIn: Using Social Media for Your Job Search
    When: February 25 from 4-5 p.m.
    Where: Mastronardi B
    What: Learn how to create a powerful, attention-getting LinkedIn profile to help find opportunities for internships and careers through the site.
  • Oxley Discovery Informational Session
    When: March 3 from 4-5 p.m. and March 10 from 4-5 p.m.
    Where: President’s Reception Room
    What: Learn how to earn academic credit for an Oxley Discovery course, preparing students for internships, jobs, and careers.
  • Cover Letters and Professional Correspondences
    When: March 4 from 4-5 p.m.
    Where: Mastronardi B
    What: Find out how to write impactful cover letters and effective follow up correspondence.
  • Create Your Career Search
    When: March 10 from 4-5 p.m.
    Where: Mastronardi B
    What: Graduating students are invited to work on drafting a career plan and targeting future goals.
