Financial Aid Counselor
Job Title: Financial Aid Counselor
Department: Financial Aid
Reports to: Director of Financial Aid

Assist in financial aid processing which includes working with students and parents to determine eligibility for Federal, State and Institutional Aid.


 Run daily and weekly jobs to do ISIR downloads and corrections
 Loan certification
 Pell processing
 Award letter generation
 Post aid to students’ accounts
 Run reports for Financial Aid office and Office of Admission
 Customer Service


Bachelor’s degree

Minimum of two years’ work experience required; financial aid experience strongly preferred. Bi-lingual in Spanish and English strongly preferred.

Demonstrate excellent customer service skills. Possess excellent computer skills, well organized, demonstrate attention to detail, and be a self-starter.

Knowledge of BANNER in higher-education financial aid, strongly preferred.

Ability to read and interpret documents, instructions, and procedure materials. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

Ability to speak effectively before groups.

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Other duties as assigned.
