Distinguished Scientists Visit the Mount
11/13/2013 - Riverdale, N.Y. – Mark Soloski, Ph.D. and Julianne Imperato-McGinley, M.D. visited the Mount for the Paramount Perspectives speaker series program. Dr. Soloski presented, “From General Biology to Johns Hopkins: What it Takes to be a Scientist,” in Science Hall room 101 at 4:00 p.m. on November 13, 2013. Dr. Imperato-McGinley presented, “Translational Science and the Future of Medicine,” in Science Hall room 117 at 4:00 p.m. on November 14, 2013.

Dr. Sylvia Christakos ’67, the leader of one of the country's foremost laboratories in Vitamin D research, who has been recently honored with the College's Ad Laudem Dei award, will present "Multiple Actions of Vitamin D" in Dr. James Fabrizio's Molecular Biology class in Science Hall room 304 at 9:30 a.m. on November 19, 2013.  

The Paramount Perspectives program, launched in early 2013, demonstrates to community and business leaders all of the wonderful things that go on in classrooms at the Mount and also introduces students to successful individuals with a variety of interests who can enrich the educational experience here at the College. Guest speakers provide insight and experience that complement the academic content of the classes.
