The College of Mount Saint Vincent
The College of Mount Saint Vincent seeks an adjunct professor in the Philosophy Department beginning in January 2014 to teach two classes of the following core course:
PHIL 110 - Introduction to Ethics: This course introduces students to philosophy through the exploration of fundamental ethical questions. Among the themes treated in this course are moral obligation, virtue, justice, law, good and evil. Students will learn to read primary texts, develop reasoning skills, and explore the nature of the good life.
First class: Wednesday and Friday - 8:30 a.m. to 9:45 a.m.
Second class: Wednesday and Friday – 10:00 a.m. to 11:15 a.m.
The Philosophy Department requires one core class and offers upper level courses for minors, majors and those needing electives. The College stresses teaching and close engagement with students. Candidates must have a graduate degree (M.A. or Ph.D.) in philosophy. Teaching experience in higher education strongly preferred.
