Why I Give

"Most folks think that talking to other alums about contributions is a challenge. However, when you believe that the need is real and the results are valuable, the time and effort spent is well worth it! For me, one of the most rewarding aspects of working with the President’s Associates is talking to other enthusiastic alums. So many times, the alums I speak with talk about the value of a Mount Saint Vincent education in terms of knowledge, preparation for the real world, enduring friendships and a value system that includes a strong work ethic and business ethics.

"My husband teases me that the Mount need only ask and I’ll respond. His words capture the depth of my commitment to the important work that the College does to educate and support worthy students, many of whom would not be able to afford this quality education. I consider the “good sisters” I came to know during my years at the Mount to be my early role models for independent, smart, educated women who know how to get the job done.

"Therefore, making a contribution to the College at the President’s Associates level is appropriate to continue the quality of the Mount education by supporting quality faculty, facilities and infrastructure. For many Mount graduates $20 per week is a substantial way to repay the gift of a Mount education and to guarantee this treasure is available for more generations of deserving students.

"This year’s President’s Associates program was a great success – we had both increases in giving and increases in the number of Alums who joined in this level of giving. In addition, the contributions by these distinguished alums accounted for more than half of all Annual Fund contributions. Congratulations to all of you, and thanks to those who gave and those who called on behalf of the Mount."
