Why I Give
Doreen Donohue, '84
Doreen Donohue, Class of 1984, has been a consistent donor to the Annual Fund and has supported the College in other ways as well. She has attended the Annual Scholarship Tribute Dinner on a number of occasions and has also given generously of her time.

A class Fund Agent for many years, she has also served as Reunion Chair (2004) and has served on the Alumnae/Alumni Association Board as Director and later as 1st Vice President.

“My father instilled in me the importance of supporting my educational institutions. After graduating from the Mount, I was living in North Carolina, just starting out, but I would send my small donation every year to the Annual Fund.

“In 1991 I moved to New Jersey, went to one Mount function and was hooked. I was elected to the Alumnae/i Association Board which allowed me to get to know fellow alums as well as current students. This has given me a whole new perspective on the Mount. It is no longer to me the ‘primarily all girls school’ that provided me a great nursing education. It is a well respected, academically strong, multicultural institution that has produced some amazing individuals who are changing the world. By widening my view of the College, I increased my contribution. The mission of the College is something I am proud to support.”

In November, Doreen relocated to Jacksonville, FL where she is the Senior Manager for Oncology and Neuroscience at the Baptist Medical Center there.
