Librarian I Position

The Librarian I position reports directly to the Library Director, and works closely with library staff and library patrons. The successful candidate will have exposure to and interest in all aspects of library management and implementation in an academic setting. This position is an excellent opportunity for gaining additional experience in a higher education, academic setting.
Applicants should have familiarity with current and emerging library technology, and a passion to promote information literacy.

The successful candidate will have a strong, user-service orientation, core academic values, library-instruction experience, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to build consensus among library personnel and faculty and staff.

The position will require some weekend hours and afternoon/evening hours.

Duties include: Reference, Circulation, InterLibrary Loan Administration, Collection Development, Library Instruction

ALA accredited MLS/MLIS degree and a minimum of one year post-MLS experience in an academic library setting
Knowledge of LCSH, LC classifications
Advanced internet research skills
Excellent writing and public speaking skills
Extensive knowledge of desktop computing and general office software (including but not limited to Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
