Director of Student Activities, Leadership and Commuter Life

The Director of Student Activities, Leadership and Commuter Life provides leadership and management for campus co-curricular events and activities. The Director is responsible for advising student organizations, programs and services; managing the student activity fees and budgets, supervise staff, coordinate programming, annual events and campus-wide co-curricular activities.
This position reports directly to the Vice President for Student Affairs/Dean of Students, and serves on the Student Affairs leadership team.


Directly responsible for student club and organization recognition and all student activity fee funding processes; advises classes and campus programming and student activity fee allocation boards; Supervises two graduate assistants, student employees, commuter assistants and orientation leaders. Manages student activity fee expenditures, and the Alumnae Pavilion Student Center facility.
In collaboration with staff and students, identify and facilitate opportunities to increase student engagement in campus life, promote a student-centered environment with a focus on student leadership; develop collaborative relationships with students, academic partners, and other College departments.
Represent the Office of Student Activities, Leadership and Commuter Life on designated committees as assigned by the Vice President for Student Affairs/Dean of Students.
Other duties as assigned by the Vice President for Student Affairs/Dean of Students.
Regular evening and weekend work is required.

Master's Degree in Student Personnel or a related field; three to five years of progressive experience in student activities or a related area in higher education; experience advising student organizations and managing multiple budgets. Must possess strong planning and organizational skills, as well as the ability to work with a diverse student population and various College constituencies. Strong written and oral communication skills are a must. We are seeking a team player, who is creative and energetic.
