College of Mount Saint Vincent Assistant Professor of Chemistry Daniel Amarante Recipient of 2012 Hamilton Syringe Grant Program Award
12/10/2012 - Riverdale, N.Y. – College of Mount Saint Vincent Assistant Professor of Chemistry Daniel Amarante was recently chosen as a recipient of a 2012 Hamilton Syringe Grant Program.

This award entitles Dr. Amarante to $1,000 worth of Hamilton syringes, needles, and accessories of his choosing, all of which will be used to enhance the Mount’s chemistry labs and his research efforts.

Director of the Division of Natural Sciences Dr. Patricia Grove says “The syringes are used to inject a sample for analysis into the advanced instrumentation (i.e., gas chromatograph, nuclear magnetic spectrometer) in the chemistry teaching and research laboratories. Multiple syringes will limit the possibility of cross-contamination of samples as well as decreasing the waiting time in the laboratory.”
