Prerequisites
Applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and have an undergraduate cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0.

New York State Certification
Please submit a copy of your New York State Initial Certification in a discipline other than TESOL.

References and Transcripts
Submit two letters of recommendation and provide all official graduate and undergraduate transcripts.

Interview with the Program Coordinator
All applicants will need to conduct an admissions interview with the program coordinator.

Writing Proficiency
All degree candidates must complete the English Essay Exam prior to their first semester of study. No special preparation is required. Contact the Graduate Program for an appointment to take the examination. Anyone whose proficiency exam demonstrates weakness in writing will be referred to the Academic Resource Center and/or registered for a non-credit course to improve writing skills prior to enrollment in graduate courses.
