Josh Sharpe Named D3Baseball.com Second Team All-New York Region

Riverdale, N.Y. – College of Mount Saint Vincent rising junior centerfielder Josh Sharpe (Ronkonkoma, N.Y.) picked up his second post-season honor on Friday afternoon when he was named to the D3Baseball.com Second Team All-New York Region Team. Sharpe adds the regional honor to his Second Team All-Skyline selection.
Sharpe finished the 2012 season as the Dolphins' leader in nearly every statistical category during his sophomore campaign. His .356 batting average paced the team and he also led the Mount in base hits with 42.
The 5-9 centerfielder was the only Mount Saint Vincent player to start all 37 games in 2012 and he also led the way in walks (32), on-base percentage (.506), sacrifice flies (5) and stolen bases (18).
Sharpe also rounded out the year matching the team-high with 10 multi-hit games and with an eight game hitting streak. He also finished second on the squad with nine multi-RBI games.
Following a standout 2012 season, Sharpe signed to play with the Long Island Collegians of the Atlantic Collegiate Baseball League. The Collegians open the 2012 campaign on June 2.
Mount Saint Vincent rounded out the 2012 season with a 15-22 overall record.
