The orientation program for incoming students and their parents/guardians contains an oral and written presentation by the Director of Campus Safety and Security. In addition, employees and students are informed of crime prevention methods by the Director of Campus Safety and Security as well as information appearing in the Student Handbook.

Guest speakers and programs sponsored by the Division of Student Affairs throughout the school year stress the critical importance of student’s involvement in crime prevention.

The Security Staff and the Residence Life staff participate in joint training sessions which include discussions of the importance of prompt reporting of criminal activity and preventive measures to improve the safety and security of our campus. To strengthen our crime prevention efforts regular conferrals are conducted between the Director of Campus Safety and Security and the Yonkers and New York City Police Departments.
