Margaret Ann Dames, Class of 1965, is the Superintendent of Schools and Director of the Office for Education for the Diocese of Bridgeport.
Valerie Rebori Reidy, B.S., Biology, Class of 1970, is the first woman to be principal of the prestigious Bronx High School of Science, where she taught for many years. Reidy has a master’s from Fordham University.
Maryellen Nerz-Stormes, B.S., Biochemistry, Class of 1980, is a faculty member of the chemistry department at Bryn Mawr College. She holds a Ph.D. from the University of Pennsylvania. Last spring she was awarded the Rosalyn Schwartz Teaching Award at that institution’s commencement.
Carol Hagerty Piza, B.A., English, Class of 1974, was one of only 46 teachers in the state of New Jersey to achieve certification by the National Board of Professional Teaching Standards in 2003. Piza teaches at Crossroads North Middle School in South Brunswick, where she is a teacher leader.
Elizabeth Jane Rock, B.S., Chemistry, Class of 1946, Served as a member of the faculty at Wellesley College for over forty years, as a professor and chair of the Chemistry Department. She received her M.A. from Smith College and her Ph.D. in chemistry from Pennsylvania State University.
Ellen Cendo Swihart, B.A., French, Class of 1967, is director of the Lower School at the Hackley School in Tarrytown, New York. She has studied educational administration at the University of Virginia and received her M.S.B.A. from Boston University.
Sr. Patricia McGowan, S.C. is an Associate Professor of Communication at the College and was recently awarded the Bene Merenti Medal.
Gail Dinter-Gottlieb, B.S., Chemistry, Class of 1965, is president of Acadia University in Wolfville, Nova Scotia. She studied in educational administration at Northeastern University and received her Ph.D. in Biochemistry at the Weitzmann Institute of Science in Israel. She is also a graduate of the Management Development program at Harvard University.
