Honor Societies
The biology department participates in several honor societies, and students are recognized routinely for their work in research.

Beta Beta Beta, National Biological Honor Society
Beta Beta Beta (TriBeta) is a society for students, particularly undergraduates, dedicated to improving the understanding and appreciation of biological study and extending the boundaries of human knowledge through scientific research.


Sigma Xi, the Scientific Research Society
Founded in 1886, Sigma Xi is the international honor society of research scientists and engineers, with a distinguished history of service to science and society. Students are elected to membership based on their research achievements or potential.
