The Office of Undergraduate Admission will be hiring a graduate assistant for the upcoming Fall 2014 semester. This individual is reliable, energetic, has strong communication and writing skills, is well-versed in social media, and is able to represent the College of Mount Saint Vincent in a positive manner. The graduate assistant will be required to work 20 hours per week in the Office of Admission.
- Counseling prospective freshman applicants
- Responding to admission inquiries via phone and email
- Representing the College at on-campus information sessions and all admission-related on-campus events
- Increasing our social media presence while adhering to the mission of the College
- Reviewing freshman applications
- Assisting in outreach and communication plans
- Interviewing and meeting with prospective students and families
- Attending college fairs when needed
- Assisting colleagues with media development, video content, and admissions blogging
This position requires you to be flexible and have the drive to work in a fast-paced office and team environment. Throughout the admission cycle, this position requires the ability to work evenings and some weekends, travel will be limited. Strong interpersonal, writing and public speaking skills are necessary, as well as the ability to represent the College in a positive way to diverse populations.
This person must be enthusiastic about the Mount, has a strong work ethic; exercises sound judgment, and displays the willingness to learn about the admission field. The required amount of hours is 20 per week and will include some nights and weekends. This is a professional work environment and dress is business or business casual on a daily basis.
Evaluation and Supervision
You will be supervised by the Director of Admission and the Associate Director of Admission. At the end of each semester, a performance evaluation will be conducted by the Director of Admission.
