Saint Vincent Men’s Soccer program has been picked to finish 11th in the 2010 Skyline Conference Preseason Coaches’ Poll. The Dolphins received 17 points in the poll voted on by the league’s 11 head coaches.

 

Two time defending league champion St. Joseph’s-L.I. has been tabbed the preseason favorite in the poll after earning 100 total points and 10 first place votes. The Rams from Farmingdale State were selected second with 91 tallies and one first place vote.

 

Old Westbury was picked to finish third in the poll with 77 points and the Panthers were followed by Maritime with 69 points, NYU-POLY with 61 points and Mount Saint Mary with 57 tallies. Rounding out the 11 team field are Bard (52), Sage (33), Purchase (30), Yeshiva (18) and the Dolphins (17).

 

During the 2008 campaign the Dolphins posted a 2-16 overall record, playing a challenging schedule that featured the overall top seed in the NCAA Tournament in Montclair State.

 

The 2010 season, the first for head coach James Quiroga at Mount Saint Vincent, will kick-off on Friday evening when the Dolphins host Baruch. Kick-off at Tibbetts Brook Park in Yonkers, N.Y. is slated for 5:00 p.m.
