Students at the College of Mount Saint Vincent majoring in Business may follow a program of study, generally identified as a 4 + 1 program, that leads to the award of the Bachelor of Science degree after four years of study, and the Master of Business Administration degree after a fifth year of full time study on the graduate level.
Completing this five year plan of study requires careful planning in consultation with the student’s academic adviser and the Chair of the Department of Business and Economics. Specific undergraduate coursework is required throughout the student’s first four years in order to qualify for the 4 + 1 option.
Additionally, students must earn a minimum grade of B in all undergraduate business courses.
The following table of course equivalences provides a curricular guide for students interested in this 4 + 1 program. By completing the indicated undergraduate courses with a grade of B or better, students in this program are granted waivers for up to 24 of the 60 credits required for the MBA degree, thereby reducing the total credits for the Master’s degree to 36 credits.
