3/9/2006 - Senior Russell Butts (Long Beach, NY/Long Beach HS) had a monster night with a team-high 14 kills against only two errors, and freshman TJ Pufahl (Bethpage, NY/Bethpage HS) added nine kills against only three errors, but the Mount Saint Vincent Men’s Volleyball team was swept by visiting CCNY, 3-0 on Thursday night. 3/6/2006 - Freshman Chris Dotoratos  (Bronx, NY/Salesian) enjoyed the finest night of his young career with a career-high 53 assists and 24 digs for his second double-double of the season, and the Mount Saint Vincent Men’s Volleyball team broke a five-match losing streak tonight with a thrilling 3-2 over Polytechnic. Dolphins end tough run of matches against nationally ranked teams; Dotoratos: 32 combined assists
3/4/2006 - One of the toughest stretches of matches in Mount Saint Vincent Men’s Volleyball history is finally over, and while Mount Saint Vincent finished the stretch 0-5, with four losses against nationally ranked teams and a fifth against a top Division II program, the young Dolphin team proved to be nothing short of respectable against the very best the nation has to offer. 2/15/2006 - While much of the New York City area was being blanketed by the blizzard of 2006, the Mount Saint Vincent Men’s Volleyball team escaped the poor weather and traveled to Rochester, New York for one of the most competitive tournaments in the nation this season at Nazareth College. With five of the nation’s top-15 teams competing, the Nazareth College Tournament provided a young Mount Saint Vincent team with a litmus test for how they stack against competition deemed capable of competing for the National Championship in May. 2/7/2006 - Junior Dan Williams (Brick Township, NJ/St. Mary’s) had eight kills and a team-high .115 attack percentage, and Matthew Reinhardt (Staten Island, NY/McKee-SI Tech) had 15 assists and a match-high three service aces, but the Mount Saint Vincent Men’s Volleyball team saw their three-match winning streak broken on Tuesday night, 3-0 at Ramapo College in a rematch of the 2005 ECAC Metro Championship Game. 2/2/2006 - Sophomore Arnold Ross (Wilton, ME/Mount Blue HS) had his second consecutive double-double with a career-high 17 kills and 15 digs, and senior Russell Butts (Long Beach, NY/Long Beach HS) added 10 kills, two blocks, and a .444 attack percentage as the Mount Saint Vincent Men’s Volleyball team won its second straight match, and third during its last three matches, 3-0 over Yeshiva University on Thursday night. Dolphins win three thrilling games to give Callahan first collegiate victory
1/25/2006 - During a run of three straight Catholic High School Athletic Association (CHSAA) Championships as the Head Boys’ Volleyball Coach at Salesian High School, Tom Callahan rarely found himself having to rally his team after losing a match, let alone overcoming a record below .500. During his first season as a College Head Coach, Callahan has had to deal with both misfortunes for nearly a week as an agonizingly long, six-day stretch existed between the Mount Saint Vincent Men’s Volleyball team’s season-opening loss to Hunter College on Jan. 19 and their second match at Polytechnic on Wednesday night. Ultimately, the wait was worth it, and Callahan is back in the win column once again as Mount Saint Vincent held off an upstart Polytechnic team in straight sets to win their first match of the season, 3-0 over the Fighting Blue Jays. 12/21/2005 - Mount Saint Vincent Director of Athletics Cathy Ingram has announced the hiring of Tom Callahan as Head Men’s Volleyball Coach. Callahan, a 1998 graduate of Iona College, comes to the Mount with strong volleyball coaching credentials, having led the Catholic High School Athletic Association (CHSAA) powerhouse Salesian High School program to three straight CHSAA Championships, and has also enjoyed stints coaching in the Empire State Games and as the Head Women’s Volleyball Coach at Maritime College as well. 5/3/2005 - Mount Saint Vincent Men’s Volleyball senior Phil Gallagher (Peru, ME/Mountain Valley HS) ended his career today as one of the most decorated Varsity Athletes in Mount Saint Vincent history. Two weeks after competing in his final match for the Dolphins, Gallagher was named Second-Team All-American, and earned Player of the Year honors from both the Northeast Collegiate Volleyball Association (NECVA) and from the Metropolitan Division of the NECVA, as well as First-Team All-Conference honors.
