Mount Saint Vincent had eight programs represented on the list with Baseball and Men’s Lacrosse leading the way with their seven selections. Women’s Basketball and Women’s Lacrosse each had six players honored, with the Women’s Swimming and Men’s Volleyball program’s registering five selections. Men’s Basketball had three players named to the list and Softball had a pair of selections.
Three student athletes appeared on the list for more then one sport, with Joe Ecock (Brooklyn, N.Y.) appearing for Men’s Basketball and Men’s Volleyball, Karissa Koerner (Bay Shore, N.Y.) making it for Women’s Basketball and Softball and Amanda Costa (River Edge, N.J.) for Women’s Swimming and Women’s Lacrosse.
Percodani picked up the Scholar-Athlete of the Year Award in her respective sport after leading the Dolphins to their third straight ECAC Tournament. The honor goes to the player in the conference with the highest grade point average among First Team selections. During the 2009-10 season, Percodani averaged 9.9 points and a team-high 5.5 assists per game.
Overall, Mount Saint Vincent had the third highest total of student-athletes named to the list among full time Skyline Conference institutions. Yeshiva and St. Joseph’s-L.I. each had 42 named to the list followed by the Mount’s 38. Rounding out the league by selections are Farmingdale State (33), Bard (32), Mount Saint Mary (30), Purchase (25), Old Westbury (21), Maritime (20), NYU-POLY (18) and Sage (17).
A total of 318 winter and spring sport student-athletes earned Skyline Conference Scholar-Athlete honors by achieving a minimum 3.30 GPA during the semester in which they competed. Including the fall semester, a total of 676 student-athletes earned Scholar-Athlete honors for the year - the most that the conference has ever had, eclipsing last year’s total of 605.
