The longest tenured Head Coach on the Mount Saint Vincent Athletics Staff, Mary Marra returns for her seventh season at the Mount Saint Vincent Softball helm. Over that time, Marra has developed the program into a consistent contender for the Hudson Valley Women's Athletic Conference (HVWAC) Championship as well as a formidable foe in Skyline Conference play. With nearly four decades of involvement in the sport of softball as a player, coach, and ambassador for the sport, Marra is well known among local softball circles and, as a result, has been able to attract some of the best softball talent in the area to play for her at the Mount.

Marra - a retired letter carrier, who currently works in the Mount Saint Vincent mailroom - came to the Mount after spending 11 seasons as an Assistant Coach at New Rochelle High School. Upon taking the Head Coaching position at Mount Saint Vincent for the 2001 season, Marra promptly earned HVWAC Coach of the Year honors after leading the Mount to an outstanding campaign. The next two years were arguably Marra's best at the Dolphin helm as the Mount won the 2002 HVWAC Tournament Championship, and then swept both the HVWAC Regular Season and Tournament Championships in 2003. Since 2003, the Dolphins have been in the HVWAC final four every year and are a perennial favorite to challenge for the championship.

A third baseman, Marra has spent more than 30 years playing recreational softball in local leagues and continues to be an avid fan of both softball and baseball as she is renowned for never missing a Yankees game.
