Dolphins win opener 6-2 as Riddle improves to 7-11; now 12-5 during last 17 games
4/29/2006 - Freshman Jessica Riddle (Billerica, MA/Billerica HS) continued her recent string of brilliance on the mound, pitching seven strong innings to improve to 7-11 overall and 6-2 during her last eight starts as the Mount Saint Vincent Softball team opened a Saturday doubleheader with a 6-2 win over Skyline Conference rival Old Westbury. After a 3-2 loss in the night-cap, the Mount is now 14-23 overall and ends the 2006 season 4-12 in Skyline Conference play, but the Dolphins have won 12 of their last 17 games overall. More...
Dolphins combine to outscore Blue Angels 28-8, now 11-4 during last 15 games
4/27/2006 - The weather may be warm outside, but nothing is as hot as the Mount Saint Vincent Softball team. The Dolphins, who at one point this season had a 2-18 record in early April, have come together and turned the 2006 campaign around, winning 11 of their last 15 games after Thursday’s doubleheader sweep of the College of New Rochelle in which the Mount earned 15-4 and 13-4 wins. 4/27/2006 - Freshman Jessica Riddle (Billerica, MA/Billerica HS) enjoyed perhaps the finest game of her young career with another spectacular performance on the mound, and a three-run home run during the third inning to lead Mount Saint Vincent past Skyline Conference foe Mount Saint Mary, 4-3 during the opening game of a doubleheader with the Blue Knights on Wednesday. After dropping the night-cap, 6-2, the Dolphins are 11-22 overall and 3-11 in Skyline Conference play, but they are also 9-4 during their last 13 games as the regular season winds down. More...

Softball Senior Day4/21/2006 - The final home game of the 2006 season proved to be memorable for the Mount Saint Vincent Softball team not only because it was the final home game for two Dolphin seniors, but because two nearly flawless games proved how far the Mount has come during the 2006 season. During a doubleheader sweep of Hudson Valley Women’s Athletic Conference (HVWAC) rival, Sarah Lawrence, the Dolphins did just about everything right as they were victorious, 5-0 and 11-2 to improve to 10-21 overall, and 2-2 in HVWAC play. 4/18/2006 - Mount Saint Vincent Softball freshman Jillian Troncoso (West Haverstraw, NY/West Haverstraw HS) was named the Hudson Valley Women’s Athletic Conference (HVWAC) Rookie of the Week this for the second straight week after an incredible performance in leading the Dolphins to a 3-2 record. During a doubleheader sweep of Maritime College, a single game win over Lehman College, and a twin-bill defeat at the hands of Centenary, Troncoso hit an incredible .615 with eight RBI’s and eight runs scored. 4/17/2006 - As the Hudson Valley Women’s Athletic Conference (HVWAC) playoffs draw closer and closer, it has become increasingly clear that the road to the tournament championship will not be an easy one for any of the six teams in the Conference. On Monday, two of the HVWAC’s elite, Mount Saint Vincent and St. Joseph’s (Brooklyn) squared off for one of the most thrilling doubleheaders of the 2006 season. And while the visiting Bears won the opener, 5-4 to claim the Conference victory, Mount Saint Vincent’s heroic comeback during the opener, and 4-2 win during the nightcap is living proof that the Mount’s HVWAC Title aspirations are very much alive and well. 4/11/2006 - Prior to the start of Monday’s Softball game between Mount Saint Vincent and local rival, Lehman, it was announced that freshmen Jessica Riddle (Billerica, MA/Billerica HS) and Jillian Troncoso (West Haverstraw, NY/West Haverstraw HS) were named the Hudson Vallley Women’s Athletic Conference (HVWAC) Player and Rookie of the Week, respectively. 4/11/2006 - A commanding performance during a doubleheader sweep of Marymount College on Friday has led to two Mount Saint Vincent Softball players earning Hudson Valley Women’s Athletic Conference (HVWAC) weekly honors, marking the first time this season that the Mount won both awards in a single week. Dolphins combine for 32 runs over two games for best doubleheader output of 2006
4/10/2006 - Monday’s softball doubleheader between Mount Saint Vincent and Maritime College was played on Maritime’s field, but by the end of the day it felt like the Dolphins were very much at home. A Mount Saint Vincent offensive eruption combined with some excellent play on the pitchers mound gave the Dolphins a doubleheader sweep of the Privateers, 12-1 and 20-3. 4/7/2006 - Freshman pitcher Jessica Riddle (Billerica, MA/Billerica HS) threw the first no-hitter of her career, allowing only four walks and two baserunners to pass second base, and struck out a career-high six Marymount batters while driving in four runs herself as the Mount Saint Vincent Softball team swept a doubleheader for the first time this season, 14-0 and 9-4 during games played at Marymount College. 4/5/2006 - When it was all broken down, the Mount Saint Vincent Softball team was swept by Farmingdale State on Wednesday, 14-0 and 12-9 to drop to 2-18 for the 2006 season, including an 0-8 mark in Skyline Conference play. However, looking beyond the stat-sheets and scorebooks, the Dolphins did enough good things on during a cold, brisk day to give the team hope that winning ways are right around the corner. After Farmingdale stormed by the Mount during the first game, and took an 8-0 lead after two innings during the night-cap, the Dolphins banded together and rallied to tie the score and force extra innings during an incredible comeback. 4/2/2006 - Pitchers Krista Roberts (Wilmington, MA/Wilmington HS) and Jessica Riddle (Billerica, MA/Billerica HS) held the potent Manhattanville College line-up in check for much of Sunday’s doubleheader with the defending Skyline Conference Champions, but ultimately the Valiants proved to be too much, sweeping Mount Saint Vincent 11-0 and 10-0. 3/31/2006 - Pitchers Krista Roberts (Wilmington, MA/Wilmington HS) and Jessica Riddle (Billerica, MA/Billerica HS) enjoyed stellar performances on the mound, but the Mount Saint Vincent Softball team fell to 2-14 overall after dropping both ends of a doubleheader to the College of Saint Elizabeth on Friday at Mount Saint Vincent. 3/29/2006 - Mount Saint Vincent freshman softball pitcher Jessica Riddle (Billerica, MA/Billerica HS) was named the Hudson Valley Women’s Athletic Conference (HVWAC) Player of the Week this week after an impressive week of play despite an 0-2 record on the mound. The honor was the first conference award for the rookie who is currently 1-6 on the mound for Mount Saint Vincent. Riddle was not the only Dolphin athlete to be honored this week by a Conference as Women’s Lacrosse sophomore Maureen Payne (Bloomfield Hills, MI/Marian) and freshman Stacie Tripp (Glen Cove, NY/Glen Cove HS) were both named to the Skyline Conference Honor Roll. 3/26/2006 - Pitchers Krista Roberts (Wilmington, MA/Wilmington HS), Jillian Troncoso (West Haverstraw, NY/West Haverstraw HS) and Jessica Riddle (Billerica, MA/Billerica HS) enjoyed fine weekends, allowing a combined 22 earned runs over four games, but the Mount Saint Vincent Softball team fell to 1-11 overall, and 0-4 in Skyline Conference play after being swept in doubleheaders by USMMA-Kings Point Saturday and St. Joseph’s (LI) Sunday during the opening weekend of Skyline Conference play.
