9/3/2006 - The 2006 Women's Soccer season brings with it an incredible sense of optimism as the Mount captured the 2005 HVWAC Tournament Championship with a roster laden with freshmen and sophomores. Back for 2006 are more than a dozen members of that championship team, an incredible freshman class, and the 2005 Skyline Conference Coach of the Year. When combined, what has emerged is a team that has everything it takes to win the HVWAC, and compete for supremacy in the Skyline Conference as well. 11/9/2005 - After a remarkable turnaround that saw the Mount Saint Vincent Women’s Soccer team finish the 2005 season 10-7 after a 3-10 finish in 2004, two key members of the team were named All-Conference by the Skyline Conference today. Sophomore Katherine Gentsch (Staten Island, NY/Curtis HS) earned First Team All-Conference honors, while fellow sophomore Cynthia Osorio (Oceanside, NY/Oceanside HS) was named Second Team All-Conference.
11/9/2005 - Three key members of the Mount Saint Vincent Women’s Soccer team that captured the Hudson Valley Women’s Athletic Conference (HVWAC) Championship on Saturday have been named to the HVWAC All-Conference team for their outstanding efforts during the 2005 season.
11/5/2005 - Freshman Tracy Frank (Port Jefferson Station, NY/Comsewogue HS) capped an incredible post-season with the game-winning goal in the 15th minute, on a corner kick off the foot of Melissa Garganta (Kearney, NJ/Kearney HS), as the Mount Saint Vincent Women's Soccer team captured its first-ever Conference Championship of any kind with a 1-0 win over the College of Staten Island in a game played at Staten Island.
11/3/2005 - Freshman Tracy Frank (Port Jefferson Station, NY/Comsewogue HS) had a career-high five points, and sophomore Katherine Gentsch (Staten Island, NY/Curtis HS) added her 17th and 18th goals of the 2005 season, as the Mount Saint Vincent Women’s Soccer team downed Marymount College, 6-0, during the Hudson Valley Women’s Athletic Conference (HVWAC) Semifinals played at Mount Saint Vincent.
10/28/2005 - Sophomore Katherine Gentsch (Staten Island, NY/Curtis HS) scored a career-high four goals, and the Dolphin defense allowed only one shot the entire game, as the Mount Saint Vincent Women’s Soccer team dominated CCNY, 8-0 in a Hudson Valley Women’s Athletic Conference (HVWAC) game played at CCNY.
10/26/2005 - During one of their best defensive efforts of the 2005 season, the Mount Saint Vincent Women's Soccer team lost a 1-0 nailbiter to Manhattanville College - the second place team in the Skyline Conference - in a game played at Maritime College. Dolphins goalie Alexis Alessi (Rockville Centre, NY/Oceanside HS) made nine saves, and the Mount defense stymied the potent Manhattanville attack throughout the game, but one crucial breakdown allowed the Valiants to escape with the win.
10/24/2005 - For the sixth consecutive week, Mount Saint Vincent Women’s Volleyball outside hitter Roxanne Predergast (Center Moriches, NY/Westhampton Beach HS) was named to the Skyline Conference Honor Roll after yet another outstanding stretch. While Mount Saint Vincent finished last week 0-3, Predergast was the model of consistency, averaging 2.7 kills, 2.7 digs, and 0.4 service aces in 16 games.
10/23/2005 - In a battle of Hudson Valley Women’s Athletic Conference (HVWAC) undefeated teams, the Mount Saint Vincent Women’s Soccer team lost 2-1 to the College of Staten Island on Sunday. With the loss, Mount Saint Vincent falls to 7-6 overall and 3-1 in the HVWAC, and will now finish the regular season no better than second place in the conference as Staten Island (8-7-1, 5-0 HVWAC) clinched the HVWAC regular season championship with the win.
10/20/2005 - Sophomore Katherine Gentsch (Staten Island, NY/Curtis HS) scored her second goal of the game in the 86th minute off of an assist by Tracy Frank (Port Jefferson Station, NY/Comsewogue HS) to break a 2-2 tie and give the Mount Saint Vincent Women’s Soccer team the lead for good as the Dolphins downed St. Elizabeth, 4-2 in a game played at St. Elizabeth.
10/18/2005 - Sophomore Katherine Gentsch (Staten Island, NY/Curtis HS) scored two first half goals, and fellow sophomore Alexis Alessi (Rockville Center, NY/Oceanside HS) stopped all five shots she faced as the Mount Saint Vincent Women’s Soccer team downed John Jay, 3-0, in a game played at Mount Saint Vincent.
