been named Second Team All-New York Region it was announced on Sunday night. McManus led the Dolphins in batting during the 2010 season with a .414 average and set the single season program record for home runs with his seven round trippers.

 

McManus, a Second Team All-Skyline Conference selection, was the only Mount Saint Vincent player to hit over .400 in 2010 and he also paced the squad with a .667 slugging percentage and a .541 on-base percentage. He totaled 12 extra base hits as a junior, adding five doubles to his seven home runs and was second on the team with 31 runs scored.

 

The junior also paced the Dolphins this past season in RBI with 36 and total bases with 67. McManus drew 19 walks, was hit 12 times and went an impressive 14-for-16 in stolen base attempts.

 

Behind the plate McManus was equally as valuable to the Dolphins as the team’s primary catcher. In 34 games played he did not commit an error in 2010 in 166 total chances. He also cut down seven would be base stealers.

 

Mount Saint Vincent closed out the 2010 campaign with a 15-21 overall record and an even 8-8 mark in Skyline Conference play. The Dolphins advanced to their third straight Skyline Conference Tournament this past spring.
