Monday.

earn All-Skyline Conference recognition it was announced on Monday afternoon. Senior Kelly Martin (Stony Point, N.Y.) and junior Jessie Mitchell (Suffern, N.Y.) were named to the First Team, while Katie Tucci (Baldwinsville, N.Y.), Kim Freaso (Setauket, N.Y.) and Erin Woerner (Kings Park, N.Y.) were all Second Team selections.

 

Martin led the Dolphins in 2010 in every offensive category. She tallied 47 goals and handed out 22 assists on her way to a team-high 69 points. She also tallied 10 free-position goals to lead the team to go along with 41 draw controls and 13 groundballs.

 

In the Dolphins’ April 14 win over Mount Saint Mary, Martin tallied a career-high seven goals on her way to a program single game record of 11 points. Against Maritime in the regular season finale she became the first player in program history to reach the 250 point milestone after recording 10 points. 2010 marks the fourth straight All-League selection for Martin and the third straight time she has been honored on the First Team.

 

Mitchell had her third straight strong season for Mount Saint Vincent in 2010. She was second on the team in goals with 40, assists with 17 and points with 57. She led the team with 44 draw controls to go along with 34 groundballs and a team-high 16 caused turnovers. Mitchell also paced the Dolphins with four game winning markers. Mitchell has earned an All-League selection each of her three seasons at Mount Saint Vincent, with the last two being First Team honors.

 

Tucci also had a strong senior season for the Dolphins after scoring 28 goals and handing out a pair of assists for 30 points. She posted multiple goals in nine games in 2010, including a six goal effort against Saint Elizabeth on April 19. Tucci also led the team with 35 groundballs and chipped in with 26 draw controls as a midfielder. 2010 marks the second straight season she has been named Second Team All-Skyline Conference.

 

The back line for the Dolphins had a steady performance all season from senior Freaso. She saw action in 11 games at defense and chipped in with five goals on the season. Freaso also picked up 24 groundballs on the season and won 17 draw controls for the Dolphins. Freaso has now been named to one of the two All-League teams three straight seasons.

 

Also being honored with a Second Team selection on defense is Woerner. She had a strong all around season for the Dolphins in her junior campaign after chipping in with 13 goals. She also scooped up 21 groundballs on the year, won 10 draw controls and was second on the team with 11 caused turnovers. 2010 marks the first postseason honor for Woerner in her three seasons as a Dolphin.

 

The Dolphins advanced to their fourth straight Skyline Conference Tournament in 2010 and stand at 6-6 overall on the season. Mount Saint Vincent will await word on an ECAC Tournament bid which will come next Monday.
