Pope, the 2008 Skyline Conference Rookie of the Year, hit .342 for the Dolphins in 2010 over 35 games played. He finished third on the team this season in hits with 39 and paced the Dolphins with 10 doubles. He also finished second on the squad in RBI with 28 and in on-base percentage with a mark of .472. Pope also chipped in with 11 steals in 2010 and committed just one error in 282 chances at first base for a .996 fielding percentage.
Labartino also had a strong season for the Dolphins after hitting .346 out of the number two hole in the lineup. He was the team leader with 127 at-bats and in base hits with 44. He totaled eight extra base hits on the season and his 54 total bases were second on the squad. The junior centerfielder went 21-for-25 in stolen base attempts for Mount Saint Vincent and 10 of his 96 chances from centerfield were outfield assists.
McManus rounds out the trio of All-Conference selections for the Dolphins after a stellar season as the Mount’s backstop. He led the team in batting at a .414 clip and was second to only Labartino with 41 base hits. He led the team in home runs with his seven round trippers setting a single season program record. He also paced the 2010 squad in RBI with 36, total bases with 67, slugging percentage and on-base percentage. McManus did not commit an error on the season in 166 chances.
McMauns also led the Dolphins in multiple hits games on the season with 13 and was second on the squad in multi RBI games with eight. He drove in six runs in a game twice on the year, once against St. Joseph’s-Brooklyn on March 7 and once against John Jay on April 8.
The Dolphins closed out the season on April 28 with a heartbreaking 2-1 loss in 10 innings to Old Westbury in the opening round of the Skyline Conference Tournament. Mount Saint Vincent posted a 15-21 overall record in 2010.
