for-3 in the game with two RBI and now stands just three hits shy of tying the career mark for hits as a Dolphin.

 

Mercy scored runs in its first four at bats on Tuesday, including three runs in the first and four runs in the third. Justin Muscarella drove in a pair for the Mavericks with a single in the first and Matt Buesser tripled home three more in the third as Mercy opened an early 8-0 lead.

 

Mount Saint Vincent would respond with single runs in the fourth and fifth and two runs each in the sixth and seventh, but the Dolphins could not keep the Mavericks off the board as they plated two more runs in the sixth and the eighth.

 

The Dolphins finished the contest with 10 base hits with James Labartino (Holbrook, N.Y.), John McManus (Queens, N.Y.) and Mike Pope (Massapequa, N.Y.) each collecting a pair of safeties.

 

McManus connected on his sixth home run of the season as he finished up 2-for-4 with an RBI and a pair of runs scored. Blackford finished with two of the Mount’s five RBI on the day and collected his 141st career hit.

 

Buesser and Matt Walsh led Mercy by going 3-for-5 on the day, with Buesser scoring three times and driving in four runs. Walsh finished with a run scored and an RBI for the Mavericks. James Diaz-Paulino added three runs scored for the Mavericks, while Muscarella also drove in two runs.

 

Ryan Schlicter (Southold, N.Y.) took the loss for Mount Saint Vincent after working 3.1 innings and allowing nine runs, eight earned, on six hits. Walter Kowalczyk earned the win for Mercy with 5.0 innings of work. He allowed four hits and two runs.

 

The loss drops Mount Saint Vincent to 13-15 overall on the season. The Dolphins will return to action again on Wednesday when they travel to #22 Kean. First pitch with the Cougars is scheduled for 3:30 p.m.
