While the Dolphins will still play this coming Saturday at 4:00 p.m., the Mount has been dropped to the #4 seed and will now face top-seeded Montclair State. Comis, Yarger earn First Team honors; Dolphins finish season 3-3 in Skyline play
5/1/2006 - The first year of Conference play for the Mount Saint Vincent Women’s Lacrosse team proved to be a success in more ways than one. Not only did the Dolphins finish 3-3 against Skyline Conference competition and advance to the Skyline Semifinals on April 26, but their success throughout the 2006 campaign earned a whopping five Dolphins All-Conference honors. Dolphins outscored 12-0 during second half of first-ever playoff game; Balingcongan: 10 saves
4/26/2006 - When it was all over, the scoreboard may have declared an 18-1 Montclair State victory in the Skyline Conference Women's Lacrosse Semifinals, but there were volumes it could not speak.  The final score said nothing of the fact that the visiting team had only come into existence 13 months earlier, and had a starting line-up without a single player older than sophomore year. And not only was this the Mount’s first time in the playoffs, it marked the first time during the 2005-06 academic year that a Mount Saint Vincent team in any sport had advanced to the Skyline Conference playoffs. With a young roster and a spirited 8-8 season under their belts, Wednesday’s game was not nearly as important as the experience the team gained as they try to reach the upper echelon of the Skyline Conference. And for a while on Wednesday, it seemed like the Mount had done just that. More...

Dolphins race out to 9-0 halftime lead en route to sixth win of 2006
4/18/2006 - Three years later, the Mount Saint Vincent Women’s Lacrosse program has finally reached a height once dreamed about when the sport was introduced as a club program during the Fall of 2003. There were major steps to be taken. 2004 was the program’s club season. 2005 was the team’s first at the varsity level. And 2006 marked the first time Mount Saint Vincent entered a Conference for Women’s Lacrosse as the Skyline Conference began sponsoring the sport prior to this season. And after three long years of building a Women’s Lacrosse dream from scratch, Mount Saint Vincent is heading to the post-season. With Tuesday’s 16-4 rout of Centenary, the Dolphins have clinched the fourth and final seed in next week’s Skyline Conference playoffs to go along with their 6-7 overall record and 3-2 mark in Conference play. Dolphins out-shot 26-8 during first half en route to 10-2 halftime deficit: Staples: 10 saves
4/12/2006 - Seven games during a 13-day stretch later, the Mount Saint Vincent Women’s Lacrosse team now knows what it takes to compete in Division III lacrosse. During a brutal stretch that included nearly 1/2 of the team’s 2006 schedule during a less than two week span, the Dolphins finished 2-5, but at the same time experienced the kind of growth and learning needed as the budding program enters the home stretch of its second season. The latest lesson came on Wednesday, when Freshman Ciara O’Donnell (Bethpage, NY/Kellenberg) netted her fifth hat trick of the 2006 season, and junior goalie Tara Staples (Clifton Park, NY/Shenendahowa HS) came in relief to make 10 saves during 36 minutes of action while allowing only seven goals, but Mount Saint Vincent had a two-game winning streak broken by Stevens on Wednesday, 16-4 More...

Dolphins race out to 8-3 halftime lead en route to huge Conference win; O’Donnell: 4 goals 2 assists, Garcia: 4 points
Alexis Balingcongan4/8/2006 - There are few words or phrases to describe the magnitude of the win in the larger context of the development of the Mount Saint Vincent Women’s Lacrosse program other than the fact that Saturday’s 15-9 triumph over Kean University was simply the biggest win in the history of the program. Two years after falling 27-4 to Kean as a club team and a year after dropping a 16-15 heartbreaker to the Cougars as a first-year varsity program, Mount Saint Vincent entered Saturday’s home opener as a team on a mission to not only keep its hopes at a Skyline Conference playoff berth alive, but to earn respectability over the NJAC powerhouse and arch-nemesis of Mount Saint Vincent for the last two years. By halftime, both goals were all but reached as the Dolphins jumped out to an 8-3 lead after 30 minutes, and never looked back. More...

With their fourth straight loss, Mount Saint Vincent falls to 3-6 for the 2006 season, but the experience of hanging tough with a TCNJ program that has won 12 of the last 21 NCAA Division III National Championships could prove to be invaluable as the young Mount team continues its development. Coming off of a remarkable inaugural season in which they finished 12-4, the Mount headed south this week to Wellington, Florida to play their first two games of the year. Dolphins to compete in Skyline Conference, will play defending National Champion College of New Jersey during challenging 17-game slate
2/2/2006 - On the heels of an inaugural varsity campaign that saw them finish 12-4 in 2005, the Mount Saint Vincent Women’s Lacrosse team will enter 2006 with a challenge atypical of a second-year varsity program.
