recognized by the Skyline Conference with All-League honors it has been announced by the league office. Senior Rob Hockenjos (West Hempstead, N.Y.) and junior David Guerrero (East Meadow, N.Y.) were named to the First Team, while Michael Quinn (Wantagh, N.Y.) and Chris Bacchi (Hicksville, N.Y.) earned Second Team honors.

 

Guerrero led the team in kills and kills per game in his junior campaign in 2010. He totaled 362 winners for the Dolphins this season and was good four just over four kills per game. He also led the Mount in service aces with 49 and digs with 215. On the season Guerrero reached double figures in kills on 20 occasions, including a season-high 25 on March 2 against Skyline rival Yeshiva.

 

Hockenjos closed out his career at the Mount with a strong all-around season for the Dolphins in 2010. He was second on the team in kills with 347 and averaged 3.44 kills per game. He was the team leader in hitting percentage for the Mount in 2010 and also led the squad in total blocks with 77. The senior middle blocker also lifted 202 digs on the season and totaled a team-high 438.5 points.

 

Quinn earned Second Team honors as Mount Saint Vincent’s primary setter in his junior season. He handed out 978 helpers on the year and averaged 9.68 assists per game for the Dolphins. Quinn also chipped in with 37 kills, eight service aces and 180 digs. Quinn also finished third on the team in total blocks with 47. He handed out at least 30 assists in a match 15 times in 2010 and reached a season-high 63 helpers on March 2 against Yeshiva.

 

Bacchi is the fourth and youngest player to earn All-League honors in 2010 in just his sophomore campaign. He was second on the team in games played with 100 and finished fourth on the squad this season in kills with 176. He also raised 192 defensive digs for the Dolphins to go along with 26 total blocks and 24 service aces. His season-high in kills was 15 and it came in the Skyline Championship match against Bard on March 21.

 

The Dolphins finished 2010 with its second straight perfect regular season in Skyline play, posting a 10-0 record. The Mount was edged in a five set thriller in the Skyline final against Bard and closed the season with a 14-16 overall record.
