Brooklyn, N.Y. – College of Mount Saint Vincent Senior Jill Brady (Rockaway Beach, N.Y.) led four players in double-figures as the Dolphins pushed their winning streak to a season-high five games after a 67-53 win at NYU-POLY Saturday afternoon. Classmate Lauren Percodani (Staten Island, N.Y.) netted 10 points and now stands just a single tally short of 1,000 for her career.

Mount Saint Vincent would fall behind by as many as six points over the first six plus minutes on Saturday and did not gain its first lead of the game until three Karissa Koerner (Bay Shore, N.Y.) free-throws pushed the Dolphins in front 15-14 with 8:10 left in the opening period.

The two teams would trade the lead two more times until a Koerner triple with 6:57 left in the half gave the Mount the lead for good in the contest. The Dolphins would stretch the lead to six with 4:37 left before the break and then a Kerry O’Connor (Bethpage, N.Y.) trey with 1:08 left gave the Dolphins their biggest lead of the half at 31-24.

The Blue Jays responded with a five straight points to slice their deficit to just two points before a Percodani basket at the buzzer sent Mount Saint Vincent into the intermission with a 33-29 advantage.

Both teams struggled from the field in the first half with the Dolphins shooting just under 32-percent overall and the Blue Jays converting on just 28.1-percent of their opportunities. Koerner led the Mount with 10 points in the period, knocking in a pair of threes and going 4-for-5 from the free-throw line.

After a Noelle McCoy jumper in the opening minute cut the Dolphins lead to just two points, the Mount quickly extended its lead out to nine points with an 11-4 run. The lead would reach double-figures at the 10:33 mark on a Koerner three and the Dolphins would not allow NYU-POLY any closer then eight points the rest of the afternoon.

Mount Saint Vincent gained its largest lead of the game on a Courtney Heesemann (New Hyde Park, N.Y.) jumper with 2:30 left that pushed the Dolphins out in front 64-47. The Blue Jays scored six of the final nine points of the tilt to slice the lead to the final 67-53 decision.

The Dolphins shot a red hot 51.7-percent from the floor in the second half and finished up shooting just over 40-percent from the floor overall. Both Heesemann and Brady netted 10 points for the Dolphins after halftime.

Brady finished the game 7-for-12 from the field overall for the Dolphins and also chipped in with four rebounds and a pair of assists. Percodani added seven rebounds, four assists and a game-high five steals to her 10 point offensive performance.

Koerner ended the game with 13 points for the Dolphins to go along with five boards. Heesemann chipped in with 12 points, five boards and five blocks for the Dolphins. Both Heesemann and Percodani have now scored in double-figures in each of the Mount’s last six games.

The win moves Mount Saint Vincent to 15-8 overall on the season and to 12-5 in Skyline Conference play. The Dolphins will return home for a non-conference matchup with CCNY on Monday night. Tip-off with the Beavers at Hayes Gymnasium is set for 7:00 p.m.
