Women’s Swimming Defeated At John Jay
Cabahug, Marrocco win individual evens for the Mount

The Dolphins will look to snap a four meet losing skid on Saturday at Mount Saint Mary.
New York, N.Y. – In its first meet since December 4 the College of Mount Saint Vincent Women’s Swimming team was downed at John Jay on Wednesday night by a score of 61-34. The Dolphins picked up two individual wins on the night with Michelle Cabahug (Queens Village, N.Y.) winning the 100-yard backstroke and Jeanette Marrocco (Brooklyn, N.Y.) winning the 200-yard freestyle.

Cabahug took the victory in the 100-yard backstroke on Wednesday by posting a time of 1:16.77. She was nearly eight seconds ahead of the second place finisher. Morrocco picked up the second individual win of the night for Mount Saint Vincent in the 200-yard freestyle. She led the way in the race by posting a finishing time of 2:45.09.

Cabahug was also a part of the 200-yard freestyle relay team that picked up the win against the Bloodhounds. She teamed with Andrea De La Torre (Valley Stream, N.Y.), Angelica Iribarne (Hasbrouck Heights, N.J.) and Amanda Costa (River Edge, N.J.) to post a winning time of 2:08.50.

The loss on Wednesday drops Mount Saint Vincent to 2-5 on the season. The Dolphins will be back in the pool again on Saturday morning when they travel to Newburgh to take on Skyline rival Mount Saint Mary. The dual league meet is scheduled to begin at 11:00 a.m.
