Dolphins outscore Hawks 39-22 during second half to score second straight win; Kube, Page named to All-Tournament team
12/3/2006 - What once seemed like a lost season for the Mount Saint Vincent JV Basketball team is now a year with incredible promise. After an 0-7 start, the Mount rallied this weekend to not only defeat two teams who beat them during the opening stretch of the 2006-07 campaign, but they did so in a fashion to suggest they are now a contender in the Hudson Valley Men's Athletic Conference (HVMAC). On Sunday, for the second straight day, the Mount employed an incredible second half rally to win a game, this time it was a 39-22 dominance of Cooper Union during the final 20 minutes to down the Hawks 70-52 and capture the Championship at the Gryphon Invitational at Sarah Lawrence College. The win avenges a 56-52 loss to Cooper Union on Nov. 19 and improves the Mount to 2-7. More...

12/2/2006 - Freshman Wes Frederique (Bayside, NY/Cardozo HS) - making his 2006-07 debut after an injury to start the season - scored a team-high 14 points, and Ralph Kube (West Babylon, NY/West Babylon HS) and Kareen Wright (Bronx, NY/Cardinal Spellman) scored 11 points apiece as the Mount Saint Vincent JV Basketball team rallied from a five-point halftime deficit for a 60-45 win during the opening round of the Gryphon Tournament at Sarah Lawrence College. The win was the Mount's first of the 2006-07 season after seven consecutive losses, and avenges a 62-51 loss to Webb to open the season on Oct. 29. More...

11/26/2006 - Freshman Ralph Kube (West Babylon, NY/West Babylon HS) scored 16 points and added five rebounds, and senior Matt Salamone (Fishkill, NY/John Jay HS) enjoyed his finest game of the 2006-07 season with 11 points, four rebounds, and four assists, but the Mount Saint Vincent JV Basketball team fell to 0-7 with an 88-57 loss to Berkeley College on Saturday during the Mount's Hudson Valley Men's Athletic Conference (HVMAC) opener. The loss was the second of the 2006-07 season by Mount Saint Vincent to the Knights as Berkeley defeated the Dolphins 83-59 during the opening round of the HVMAC Tip-off on Nov. 18. More...

11/21/2006 - Mount Saint Vincent JV Basketball freshman Ralph Kube (West Babylon, NY/West Babylon HS) and Women's Basketball freshman Courtney Heesemann (New Hyde Park, NY/New Hyde Park HS) were named Basketball Rookie of Week by the Hudson Valley Men's Athletic Conference (HVMAC) and Hudson Valley Women's Athletic Conference (HVWAC), respectively, this week after outstanding weeks of play for both inside players. Kube was named to the All-Tournament team during the HVMAC Tip-off this weekend, while Heesemann earned All-Tournament honors at the Skidmore College Invitational. More...

11/20/2006 - Senior Kareem Wright (Bronx, NY/Cardinal Spellman) notched his second double-double of the 2006-07 season with 10 points and 12 rebounds, and fellow senior Matt Salamone (Fishkill, NY/John Jay HS) added 14 points and seven rebounds during his finest effort of the season, but the Mount Saint Vincent JV Basketball team fell to 0-6 with a tough 80-55 loss to NYU on Monday night at Mount Saint Vincent. 11/19/2006 - Junior Tommy Crimmins (Staten Island, NY/St. Peters) scored a game-high 23 points and added seven rebounds, 13 of his points and six rebounds coming during the second half of play, to lead Cooper Union to a 56-52 win over host Mount Saint Vincent during the consolation round of the Hudson Valley Men's Athletic Conference (HVMAC) Basketball Tip-off Tournament held at Mount Saint Vincent. 11/18/2006 - Sophomore Michael Jordan (Mamaroneck, NY/Mamaroneck HS) scored a season-high 19 points and senior Kareem Wright (Bronx, NY/Cardinal Spellman) added 16 points, but the Mount Saint Vincent JV Basketball team fell to 0-4 after an 82-59 loss to Berkeley College in the opening round of the Hudson Valley Men's Athletic Conference (HVMAC) Tip-off at Mount Saint Vincent. 11/2/2006 - Freshman Ralph Kube scored a career-high 28 points and added 11 rebounds for his first career double-double, and sophomore Michael Jordan (Mamaroneck, NY/Mamaroneck HS) added 13 points, but the Mount Saint Vincent Men's JV Basketball team lost its second straight game to open the 2006-07 season, 116-78 to Queensborough Community College on Thusday during a game played at Mount Saint Vincent. 2/3/2006 - Kareem Wright scored a season-high 31 points and added 17 rebounds and Dwayne Grate notched his first career triple-double with 20 points, 10 rebounds, and 12 assists as the Mount Saint Vincent Junior Varsity Basketball rallied for a 96-86 win over The King’s College during a game played at Mount Saint Vincent. 1/24/2006 - Mount Saint Vincent Director of Athletics Cathy Ingram has announced that the school’s Men’s Junior Varsity Basketball program will enter the Hudson Valley Men’s Athletic Conference (HVMAC), beginning during the 2006-07 season. Mount Saint Vincent will be the fifth member institution in the HVMAC Men’s Basketball Conference, joining St. Joseph’s (Brooklyn), Pratt Institute, Berkeley College, and the Culinary Institute of America.
