Dolphins Return Home To Take On St. Joseph’s-L.I.
Mount Saint Vincent holds a 3-1 home record in 2009-10

Head Coach Brian Nigro has guided the Dolphins to a 5-3 record through eight games this season.
Riverdale, N.Y. – The College of Mount Saint Vincent will play its first home game since December 9 when it hosts league rival St. Joseph’s-L.I. on Thursday night at the Peter Jay Sharp Center. Tip-off with the Golden Eagles (7-2, 3-1 Skyline) is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.

The Series: Since the 2003-04 season the two programs have hooked up 10 times with the Golden Eagles winning eight of those contests. The last win for the Mount in the series was an 89-76 victory on February 21, 2005.

Who’s Next: The Dolphins will round out the week on Saturday when they host NYU-POLY at 3:00 p.m. The tilt will be the back end of a doubleheader with the women hosting the Fighting Blue Jays at 1:00 p.m.

New Season, New Home: The Dolphins will move from their old home court into the brand new Peter Jay Sharp Center when they host cross-town rival Lehman on November 17.

Meet The Newcomers: Although the Mount lost just one senior to graduation last season, the Dolphins will welcome nine newcomers for the 2009-10 season. The new group includes freshmen Valentin Arranz, Filipp Bochkov, Sean Caputo, Shaquille Cunningham, Carson Miller, George Naldjieff and Steven Oliver. The other new faces are sophomore James Walker and junior J.R. Downey.

Your 2009-10 Captains: Head Coach Brian Nigro ‘00 has announced that senior Nick DiMaggio and sophomore Keiran Halton will serve as the team’s captains for the 2009-10 season.

Mount Saint Vincent enters the contest at 5-3 overall and at 2-2 in league play after a hard fought 82-77 road win at Sage on Tuesday night.
