Jen Mocanu recorded career-highs in points, assists and three pointers at Old Westbury.

Clifton Park, N.Y. – College of Mount Saint Vincent sophomore guard Jen Mocanu (Middletown, N.J.) has been named the Skyline Conference Women’s Basketball Player of the Week it was announced by the league on Monday evening. This is Mocanu’s first career Player of the Week award after being named Rookie of the Week four times during the 2008-09 season.

Mocanu helped Mount Saint Vincent to a five point win at Old Westbury last Wednesday in its only game of the week. Mocanu scored a career-high 27 points on 10-18 shooting overall and 5-8 shooting from behind the arc. She also pulled down five rebounds in the game, handed out five assists, blocked a shot and swiped two steals. Her five assists matched a career best and her five three point field goals also represented a career-high. 

The 77-72 win at Old Westbury gives Mount Saint Vincent three wins in its last four contests and moved it to 4-2 overall on the season and to 2-1 in league play. The Dolphins will be back in action again on the road Tuesday night when they travel to Montclair St. Tip-off is set for 6:00 p.m.
