Women’s Swimming Falls At Sarah Lawrence
Cabahug picks up a pair of victories for the Dolphins

Bronxville, N.Y. – The College of Mount Saint Vincent Women’s Swimming team was defeated on Saturday afternoon at Sarah Lawrence by a score of 150-105. Senior Michelle Cabahug (Queens Village, N.Y.) paced the Mount in the tightly contested meet with two individual victories on the afternoon.

Cabahug picked up the win in the 50-yard backstroke on Saturday, as she bested the field with a time of 35.27 seconds. Her second triumph of the day came in the 100-yard backstroke where she touched out with a time of 1:16.52 for the Dolphins.

Junior Angelica Iribarne (Hasbrouck Heights, N.J.) also had a strong swim for Mount Saint Vincent, posting a second place finish in the 50-yard back and a third place finish in the 50-yard freestyle. Her backstroke time was 37.70 seconds, while she completed the 50-yard free in a time of 33.57 seconds.

Other strong swims on the day were turned in by Andrea De La Torre (Valley Stream, N.Y.), Amanda Costa (River Edge, N.J.) and Meaghan Soccoa (Brooklyn, N.Y.). De La Torre took second in the 50-yard freestyle in 32.56 seconds, Costa came home in second place in the 100-yard individual medley in a time of 1:15.00 and Soccoa secured a second place showing in the 100-yard breaststroke in a time of 1:35.16.

The loss drops Mount Saint Vincent to 1-1 overall on the season. The Dolphins will be back in the pool for their third meet of the season on Monday evening when they travel to the College of New Rochelle. The non-conference matchup is set for 6:00 p.m.
