Dolphins Sweep Bears On Senior Night
Leonard posts 13 assists in final home match

Senior Tara Mead posted three aces on Senior Night against St. Joseph's-Brooklyn.
Riverdale, N.Y. – The College of Mount Saint Vincent Women’s Volleyball team posted an impressive 3-0 victory over St. Joseph’s-Brooklyn on Wednesday night. The Dolphins took the match by scores of 25-7, 25-13 and 25-11. Prior to the contest the department of athletics recognized Tara Mead (Pearl River, N.Y.), Lisa O’Shea (White Plains, N.Y.), Esmeralda Morales (Bronx, N.Y.) and Bridget Leonard (Poughkeepsie, N.Y.) for their contributions to the program over the past four years.

The Dolphins were led on the night by sophomore Jessica Williams (Cornwall, N.Y.) who finished with a match-high seven kills. She also posted three service aces and a defensive dig. Leonard closed out the home portion of her career with 13 assists to go along with three aces and a dig.

Mead finished the contest with a pair of kills for the Mount and also had three aces to go along with three digs. O’Shea contributed three kills to the winning effort, while Morales chipped in with a kill and a dig.

The Dolphins finished the night with 25 service aces and were led in that category by Maureen Metzner (Mineola, N.Y.) who finished with six. She also finished the night with three kills for Mount Saint Vincent. Renee Reynes (Bronx, N.Y.) led the team with nine kills on Wednesday and also posted a kill and a pair of assists.

Overall on the night Mount Saint Vincent finished with 23 kills to just four for the Bears and also totaled 25 service aces.

The win pushes Mount Saint Vincent overall record back above .500 at 11-10 on the season. The Dolphins will be back in action on Saturday for a tri-match at Maritime. The Mount will tussle with the Privateers at 1:00 p.m. before taking on NYU-Poly at 3:00 p.m.
