Widmer Paces Mount Saint Vincent At Hunter Invitational

Stephanie Widmer led the Dolphins with a 10th place finish on Sunday.
New York, N.Y. – Junior Stephanie Widmer (Harrison, N.Y.) placed 10th overall and helped the College of Mount Saint Vincent Women’s Cross Country team to a fifth place finish on Sunday at the Hunter Invitational. The Dolphins finished the event with 106 points, just 10 behind fourth place finisher Staten Island.

Widmer led the Dolphins and finished 10th overall on Sunday in a time of 29:33. She was followed by Mary Eileen Keirnan (Rockaway Point, N.Y.) in 15th place in a time of 31:19 and freshman Megan Brady (Washingtonville, N.Y.) in 23rd place in a time of 32:51. Rounding out the scoring five for the Dolphins on Sunday were Ana Garcia (Kingwood, N.J.) in the 28th position with a time of 33:43 and Janine Boccafola (Wading River, N.Y.) in 30th place in 34:09.

Sunday’s meet served as the final tune up for the Dolphins heading into the Skyline Conference Championships on November 1. In 2008 Mount Saint Vincent placed fifth at the conference meet.
